Faithnetsouthwest is holding four sub-regional events before the end of March 2009. These events will be designed to cover some of the project work Faithnetsouthwest is engaged we are currently engaged in and as part of our funding from the CLG, offer opportunity for more information for faith groups on working in their local community and give opportunities to exchange ideas and good practice.

One of these will be in Plymouth on 23 February 2009 (programme available here), it will include presentations on:

• Working with all communities – Jonathan Marshall will make a presentation on the Plymouth Centre for Cultural Diversity
• The commissioning of public services and how faith groups can get involved – with a presentation from a local commissioner
• How faith groups can provide a venue for the provision of financial advice and/or get training to provide such advice – with a presentation from a local faith group who are engaged in this work.

An event in Dorset on 24 March 2009 in partnership with Faithlinks Poole, will follow a similar format to the above. Contact Faithnetsouthwest for more information.

Faithnetsouthwest will be holding an event on contracts for public services, for faith groups in Gloucestershire and those interested in working with them. This takes place in Gloucester on 9 March 2009 (programme available here). This will be in partnership with Francesca Tolond – Social Responsibility Officer - Diocese of Gloucester and the Gloucester Association for Voluntary and Community Action.
