I am one of those Muslim women who don’t like the Burka. Those of you reading this article will be surprised to know my sister and I were told by our father to start wearing a burka at a young age. I was 12 years old and my sister 13 ½. Despite the fact I grew up knowing no one questions parents I refused to wear it. To my surprise my father accepted it without any reservation. My sister wore it until we came to this country. No one is forced to wear a burka though there may be a few who wear it without questioning the merits.
